month: July 2009

I got to spend a couple hours this past Sunday photographing one of my favorite clients again. I can’t believe it’s been over a year ago that I shot the little hands and feet pictures hanging in my office. To this day aside from the end of her newborn session I don’t think I’ve ever heard this little one have any sort of a screaming fit.
We took her for her 1 year session to the University of Evansville campus to let her explore. The campus has some wonderful color that day and we had some wonderful light for the shoot too. We set her loose and just let her explore. This little is personality plus as I think you’ll see. She also makes the funniest faces. I was able to capture one. I got her O face, she also has fish face and well scrunchy face but hey sometimes babies are faster than autofocus. IF your having a bad day these will cheer you up in a minute.

Katie & Saif had an absolutely fabulous wedding in New Harmony.  This was the first wedding I’ve shot there were the ceremony and reception both took place there.  So this gave us the opportunity to buzz around town on golf carts and find some really great places to take some photos.

The day started at the hair salon… Katie said she wanted curls on her wedding day and she got them.  Everyone got ready at the coolest house.  The girls claimed the upstairs… guys were down.  We managed to keep the 2 of them from seeing one another through it all.

Ok, this is the first time a post has taken me more than one day to do.  The part above was done the day after the wedding… it’s now Tuesday.  I dont think I’ve ever had a wedding just wipe me out like this one.  Now sure why but I’ve been wiped out for a couple days now, plus I had to get the slideshow ready for the blog.

I can’t really begin to say how much fun I had shooting Katie & Saif’s wedding.  Running around on carts looking for nice places to take photos.  They were pretty much willing to do anything.  KAtie had no problem getting all silly in front of the camera. So everyone enjoy.

I hope everyone had a great 4th this year.  As usual, I had a blast. No pun intended.  This year was a nice change form the past couple in that it was nice and cool.  Our party was alittle smaller also, more intimate.  It was nice to be able to sit down and talk and visit.  The other fun change this year is we were able to go see some fireworks this year since Newburgh postponed their show till Sunday evening. Now I assume for the next few days we’ll hear kids shooting off fireworks every evening, so its a nice slow bring down from the holiday instead of just being done like most.  Kinda like leftovers at Thanksgiving.  Below you’ll get to see images and video from both our show and the Newburgh show.

Now this next batch we would love to lay claim to but these would be from the Newburgh show. Oh yeah, Sorry about the shaky parts in the video. I was holding my video cam while taking images with my camera at the same time. Multitasking at its best… well my best anyway.

Well actually she turned one yesterday but got her 1st party this past Saturday.  Well, Ive gotten to spend the past year taking photos and watching this little girl grow up.  Much like mom and dad I can’t believe its been a year already. I’ve had so much fun and enjoyment taking her photos and playing with her. I’m still amazed how very almost self reliant she is.  On more than one occasion I’ve been to their home and she’d be in her walker and you’d totally forget she was there cause she was so quiet. Now she’s walking and not so easy to forget about her cause you have to watch every move she makes.

Her first Birthday party feel right at the tail end of all that wonderful heat we’ve been dealing with but it wasn’t to bad that afternoon.  Lilly didn’t seem to mind anyway.  She got handles by everyone there, then got to open presents…. well mom opened them she watched.  The purple shovel I think was her favorite.  The best part of coarse was her first cake. Amazingly enough she approached with caution but quickly dove in. When Mom and Dad took her out of the high school I think more of the cake made it to her lap than in her mouth.  She still got more than her days worht of suger though. Well, we’ll be doing her 1 year pictures as soon as her legs stablize a bit more.  So keep your eyes out.
