Allie and Paul couldn’t have asked for a better day for their wedding. We had the most perfect weather anyone could want. I met Allie earlier this year through Grey photography where she works. Since they don’t shoot weddings Allie booked me to shoot her wedding. This was a little different for me cause usually I do an engagement session which give my clients and I a good chance to get to know each other, but she had her boss shoot her engagement. So until yesterday they had not been in front of my camera and we hadn’t had a lot of time to play together but we had so much fun. Like usual, I still felt like I had known them forever.
St. Ben’s is such an awesome church with so many nice places around it to take photos. Im always amazed how big it is though. Everything went smoothly, well almost. We did have a bridesmaid get sick and cancel but as luck would have it she had a perfect fill in and the dress fit perfectly. Other than that no problems. Allie got a really cool surprise after the ceremony. She had wanted some sort of vintage car for the trip to the reception venue. Well her uncle just happen live down the road from someone who was selling one and let them borrow it for the wedding. It was supposed to be a surprise for Paul as well but he was outside when the car pulled up.
The reception was at the Scottish Rite downtown. Beautiful decor, good food, yes the fat guy had to mention that on his blog, there were also at every place setting a little box with 3 handmade truffles which Paul made himself. They were delicious too. I wish i had brought a few more home with me. LOL They also had one of the nicest cakes I’ve seen. Carolyn Crane did the cake and she does awesome cakes. The coolest thing of the night was Allie and Paul first dance. They had a really cool choreographed dance, which according to the DJ, they were very nervous about doing. They did a great job.
