Well if you’ve been keeping a close eye on the blog you probably have wondered what happen to me. Well I didn’t disappear. This has been a little bit of a slow month shooting wise anyway. I did have one session since my senior session but I had to wait till now to show it off. This was an Intimate session. I had a couple of ladies that wanted to surprise so I didn’t want to post any of the images till they had a chance to show the images to their husbands. Well one of my girls gave her husband his little black book this weekend so I can now show off some of those images. My other girls hasn’t surprised her husband yet so her images aren’t in this post. I hope you enjoy the images.
month: September 2008
Well this is the first senior session I’ve done in I don’t know how long. All I can say is I had a blast. I stepped out o the studio and into some alleys along the walk way downtown. The only thing missing is some good artsy graffiti. If all my senior session went like this one I would probably market them more. I really can’t tell you how much fun it was. My friend Michelle went along, cause she knows downtown better then me and was nice enough to show me her secret places for shooting. Anyway, I just wanted to get these images up fast. I was so excited to get home and work on these.
This wedding had the best weather of any wedding I’ve had in the past 2 years I think. Not to hot… not to cold. Perfect. Kendra and Michael have been together for about 4 years now. I know this because Michael as being tormented by everyone for waiting so long to marry her. I don’t see the problem, my buddy and his wife were together for almost 10 years before they got married. So Michael don’t let them bother you.
One really fun parts of the day was when we started tracing some of my brides connections to this wedding… talk about your six degree’s of separation. Follow me here for a minute. The matron of honor was a formr bride whose wedding I shot back on 2005. The grooms cousin is the fiance of one of my brides whose wedding I’m shooting next year. The matron of honor gets her hair done by on of my brides whose wedding I shot earlier this year. That bride was refered to my by a bride I shot in 2006. Oh and the bride gets her hair done by someone I used to work with at Schnucks. This wedding I’m sure could be traced back to Kevin Bacon.
This of coarse is my favorite photo from the day. For a couple of reasons… 1 all three of the lovely ladies is one of my brides… 2. It’s not very often I get to be this close to such beautiful women all at once. Although, Maria looks very cautious doen’t she? I have that affect on women. LOL
I got an email today from event planner Saundra Hadley today. She gave a shout out to my blog and my twitter… is that how we’re supposed to say that? Anyway, I want to thank her for the shout out, but I also got to reading some of the entries she had. This entry particularly … Old Cake. It talks about a servant of Princess Diana’s that held onto some of her wedding cake. This is 29 year old cake and its being auctioned off. Are you kidding me? Now I try not to get all political on my blog but come on… with the economy the way it is and people losing their homes, you can’t tell me that someone is actually going to spend good money for this. The photo isn’t showing up for me on her blog. I will see if I can find a pic online somewhere. Unbelievable!
This is a small collection of work that I’ve been playing around with. I’ve been wanting to get out and do something different so I can keep my creative edge. This is the kind of stuff I shoot and do to learn all the new shooting techniques which carry over into shooting my weddings. Over the year, I have put together a nice little collection of images and just thought I would share them with you all. Hope you enjoy them.
