Well as the title implies, I second shot for my friend Michelle this Saturday. It was kind of interesting cause it was exactly like my last wedding. It was an outdoor wedding at the Bauerhaus.
I love second shooting. I get to try things that I cant at one of my own weddings, plus I have no responsibility at all. It’s nice not to have to worry about anything. Plus I somethings catch something I might have not seen if I was shooting formals.

Ok the horse is kind of a funny story. The bride has horses of her own and form what I understood has been around them all of her life. So we did some shots of her with the horse but we had the bride hand her flowers to someone so the horse wouldn’t eat the flowers. Well afterwards we gave the bride her flowers and she just happened to get close to the horse which tried to sneak a bite. Well we all laughed then someone said tease her with the flowers so we can get a photo of it. I swear that horse understood what we said cause he wouldn’t go anywhere near those flowers. Thus the picture above.

I got a visit from my newest client yesterday. Casey and Ryan brought Lilly in for her first photo session. She was sleeping when that got there but we put an end to that. So then she was hungry. So far she takes after her photographer, she eats and sleeps. I think mom had the worst of it. When we startyed she was awake and kept wanting to stretch out and then we’d make her made. BY the time we got to doing photos with her and dad she was tired and about asleep. Of coarse the best part was when we were done I got to hold her and she went right to sleep. They’re will be pics of that later.

I’m not sure how many people I’ve told this.  Erin and Chris got married down in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  If they had met me before the photographer they booked down there I would have gotten to go to Hilton Head.  How cool would that have been?  Anyway, last night they had a reception here in town for everyone that couldn’t make it to the ceremony.  This reception took place at the Event Gallery, a new reception venue in downtown Evansville.  It’s an older building in the area that the owner cleaned out and remodeled.  I love the character those older buildings have.  My favorite was the upstairs of this building.  They left the ceiling open instead of putting in a drop ceiling.  I hope to find me an old building someday and turn it into my studio. 

Well I got to do something a little different today.  My buddy Jeff brought his kids over for a portrait session of his kids.  I was rather surprised… most of the times when friends bring their kids to me the kids want to play cause they know me.  These 2 were very well behaved and did a great job at posing.  Like I said this was a bit of a surprise cause since these 2 were little they would always be climbing on me when I went to there house.  But I had fun… they had fun and we got some great shots from the whole thing.  So now I get to share something different with you.

I’ve been so bored for the past week or so. I got all caught up with my work just before the 4th and I have had so little to do. I always thought it would be nice to get some of my life back when I get things caught up. Well I didn’t realize i didn’t have a life outside of my photography. I used to think I was joking when I said I didn’t have a life… apparently not. I’ve also realized how depressing this job can be. I mean the only women that come to see me are getting married. I’m starting to think this was not a good career move. LOL

Well anyway, one thing I have been working on… is a new look for Vickers Photo. I know there’s some of you… well one anyway, thats thinking again. This someone always comments every time I play with the look of this blog. Which of coarse this is also the first place I’ve put these changes in effect. Im sure you’ve noticed the new banner up at the top along with the color changes, but the main thing is the new logo. A good logo is something I’ve been trying to find for… well about 6 years. Not that I haven’t liked my others but now that I’ve been doing this for awhile I realize what is is I want and what direction I’m wanting to go. So changes made so far this year… new shopping cart, and new logo. Well there’s one other thing but it will effect more of how I run this company and will hopefully make my life a little easier. So the next things to come will be new business cards and I will be getting this blog customized to go with the rest of my website and branding. So I hope everyone is or will enjoy the changes coming.
