month: November 2007

Well I know I don’t normally put up my engagement sessions but this one was rather interesting. Now as most of you know, I like to use my engagement sessions as a chance for us to get to now each other and get you all used to being in front of the camera. Well, Alex and Ricky, don’t seem to have a problem in front of the camera. I think I’m going to have some fun with them at their wedding. I’m going to start writing down my wild ideas for this wedding. Anyway, as you can see, I think they were big Zoolander fans. This was thier idea… not mine.

Well with it being Thanksgiving there are all kinds of shows on the History channel about food. Imagine that. I found a couple of interesting facts. One these days we complain about the size of portions in restaurants cause we’re all getting fat ( well I am anyway). Well in the 1920s the immigrants coming into the country weren’t looking for streets of gold as we’ve heard they were looking for food. When they got to America they found all kinds of food. They were able to have meat a couple of times a week rather than once every 3 or 4 months. Can you imagine only having meat every few months. When they got here there was food and the portions got larger. So now we know why were are over fed today.
The other interesting story was about our favorite Italian chef…Boyardee. He came to this country as a young man with his brother. His brother became a matradee at a very upscale hotel and shortly after Hector Boyardee was working in the kitchen. Well he was working in the hotel that just happen to host the wedding reception of the daughter of President Woodrow Wilson. The hotel didn’t think they could handle a party this size but Hector said you let me handle it and I’ll show you how. So needless to the mean was Italian. So think about it. The wedding reception of President Wilson’s daughter had Chef Boyardee for their meal. Can you image that today? Of coarse, I’m sure its not the same thing we get in the can today but it’s still funny.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

No I’M not getting all apocalyptic on you. This weekend was my last wedding. Now Ill be asleep til spring. Anyway, My season ended on a high note. Everything went very smoothly. I seemed to really be on my A game. Nice cool day, good light, this was the day Ive been waiting for all year. Not too hot not too cold. Now Im done till next year. So I wanted to leave you with several images to hold you over til January. Don’t worry Ill try to post a few times over the holidays.

It took my awhile before I realized they used movies for the seating at the reception. I thought it was pretty neat way of doing the seating.

The flowergirl looking on waiting for the day she get to have her first dance. This was about the only time I saw her all day standing still.

I did an engagement session at Audubon PArk in Henderson. We got out by the lake there and it was so colorful. I have never been down by the lake there so this was a nice treat. So I wanted to share this image with you all.

I’ve realized lately that it’s either feast or famine around here. I’ve been swamped these past couple of weeks. I’ve had a wedding for the past three weekends although one wasn’t mine, I just help a friend shoot one. Other than that I’ve been processing images like a mad man. Tomorrow I have my last wedding of the year. Kinda looking forward to the down time, so I can get caught up with my albums.
I think Cause my weddings this year were spread out I’ve gotten alittle too laid back. Now I have three in a row and I’m not used to working this hard. Anyway wanted to share some of the images I’ve shot these past weeks.

This first wedding was Brooke and Josh. This was the first wedidng Ive had all year that had normal moderate weather. It was so nice to not drownd in my own sweat or freeze. As a whole the day went by rather smoothly no problems.

I includes this shot cause I really love the colors and the Birds of Paradise was one of my mothers favorite flowers.

This next wedding was Krista and Jeff. Yet another nice weather day. Actually it was alittle coler than Brookes wedding, but Jeff and Krista are like me, they love the cooler weather like that. Plus we had just the right amount over cloud cover for outdoor portraits.

This is Maggie. She is I officailly the youngest maid of honor I’ve had at any of my weddings.

We made a stop by Briar and Bean so the guys could pick up some cigars. Which the girls and I had some fun with.

I’ve also done a few engagement sessions so Ill work on getting some of those up. I have a couple whose wedding will be in Indy next year, so I did their engagement session in downtown Indy. Ill get some of those up soon and some others. Everyone have a good weekend.
